Oh my goodness, doesn’t pregnancy look so good on her! If only, I was this tiny so close to the end = I’d have a huge brood. Although the uncomfortableness of the end is still engrained in my memory…. so maybe not.. Nevertheless, she makes pregnancy look GOOD!

This was one of the last sessions I squeezed in before leaving Fort Mac! I love this family and their little guy. I have had the honor of photographing this little wee man since he was only a few weeks old, now he is over a year old! Where does the time go, seriously?
He has a pretty great mommy and daddy, who love him dearly!
What is not a better way to photograph a 16 month little boy, but doing what he loves – being busy and curious in a park! I loved capturing the love and this time in their lives – playing together. As I was editing up this session, I couldn’t help but flashback to my little boys first jaunts in the park and how much fun and (nerveracking) they were. How daring little people are! It kinda made me sad and reminiscent of times gone by, as my little guy is 6 in September! And starting Grade One, and needing less hand holding and becoming way more independent. He know longer needs me to catch him at the end of a slide. I digress. But this little walk down memory lane only reinforces to me why photographs are SO IMPORTANT and great in capturing the past and freezing it for the future. My goal is to capture this realness in the photos I take, so when you look at the photos it brings you back to that day and time in your life, and you can recall the events and feelings you had.

Jamie is a good friend and someone who I met when our little boys were just wee ones. Now they are both entering Grade One in the Fall and in the next few weeks ( or sooner) they will be welcoming a new little miss or mr into their family. We braved the mosquitoe-y outdoors and threats of a thunderstorm to capture her and her baby belly. Here are the favorites from our mini session!

I am also way way way behind on blogging and have a tonne to share. Let’s be honest – I’m behind on EVERYTHING! My kids and this move have been consuming most of my waking minutes. So, needless to say – I also have a few more sessions to edit. Now that we are settled and the kids are somewhat back to normal I can concentrate on my awesome ‘second’ job once again. Thanks to everyone for your extreme patience during this time. Moving with three small kids 5 and under wasn’t as easy as I expected it to be. In fact, my E still is having tough times with bedtime and I *just* got her to sleep at 9:45pm! If anyone is waiting on me… I promise I haven’t forgotten and will contact you via email soon! :)

Firstly, I am incredibly grateful to Fort McMurray and the great clients and friends I have made and the support I have received for my photography. It means sooooo much to me and I am greatly appreciative.
…… With that being said ……
On June 1st our family is being relocated back to Beaumont and the Edmonton area. My husband has been promoted and as such we need to be back in the Edmonton centre so he can fulfill his new role. With that, I will no longer be in Fort McMurray to offer photography services.
– if any clients wish to catch me before we move I have a weekend spots I can squeeze you in and evenings -
I will still be running my small business and moving it more to a full time position (as much as can be allowed with 3 small children at home) and taking clients in studio in my new home in Beaumont (an actual studio space I am excited to announce) or on-location anywhere in the Edmonton and surrounding area. With that my current official website is down and I will be redesigning this blog to become more of a blog-site; as well as moving to more of digital product offering. Lots of changes to come in due time…
I do hope that my Fort McMurray clients will look me up in Beaumont and I would love to take your photos upon your visit to the city; in my studio or on-location. You will still be able to reach me at kerriejay@lifesweetenedphotography.com.
With that said – Edmonton and area friends, Beaumont friends & family. I will be opening up my calendar and my studio (in my Beaumont home) mid-June to take approximately 8 sessions a month, I may open up more if my schedule can handle it.
